
Material and technical base
The total area occupied by L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University is 189,392 hectares, of which the area of buildings and premises amounts to 109,391 square meters.
The total area of the university's academic buildings is 69,717 square meters, with a usable area of 39,674 square meters. The total classroom space of the university is 37,113.7 square meters, including laboratories – 412.8 square meters; specialized classrooms – 3,209.7 square meters. The university's sports complex covers 2,345 square meters; sports halls – 1,476.9 square meters; libraries – 3,759 square meters. The total area of student dormitories is 31,582 square meters.
Each student has an average of 8.0 square meters of academic space.
All buildings and facilities of the university’s academic buildings and dormitories comply with the sanitary and epidemiological requirements set for educational organizations, established by Order No. 866 of the Acting Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 15, 2004, and registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan on January 25, 2005, under No. 3382 (with conclusion No. 09/5200 issued by the State Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision of Astana on August 3, 2006).
All buildings and facilities of the university’s academic buildings and dormitories meet the fire safety standards and regulations, according to the conclusion of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Fire Safety Service Committee of the Department of Internal Affairs of Astana, UPS of the "Almaty" district (inspection report No. 206 dated April 11, 2007).
The Faculty of Natural Sciences is located in Building No. 3 of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, at the address: 13 Kazhymukan Street. The total area of the building is 19,728 square meters. The total classroom space is 2,248 square meters, while the non-classroom space is 562 square meters.
The faculty complies with current sanitary rules and regulations. The department has six laboratories:
- "Organic Chemistry" Laboratory – Room 152 (50 m²),
- "Chemical Technology" Laboratory – Room 153 (50 m²),
- "Physical Chemistry" Laboratory – Room 154 (50 m²),
- "Analytical Chemistry" Laboratory – Room 155 (50 m²),
- "Inorganic Chemistry" Laboratory – Room 156 (50 m²),
- "Physicochemical Research Methods" Laboratory – Room 129 (50 m²),
- "Chemistry and Resource Conservation Issues" Laboratory – Room 151 (50 m²).
In addition to lecture rooms, the department has a laboratory equipped with modern equipment for conducting scientific research based on the results of the research work of students and the faculty – Room 151A (50 m²).
